Exploring new tastes during international food evening

Let’s think – what’s one of the most important things in humans’ everyday life? What are we looking for when we are going to another country? And how can you know more about the typical food traditions in particulal culture? Of course, just by tasting the food. Our participants also wanted to know more about the differences between our and their food so there were no doubts – international food party is what we need!

The high school students are already arrived so with lots of helpful hands party could started. After the classes with Jorgen Johansson (unfortunately Emil Agazade could’t come) participants divided in groups and went to the shop to buy all the stuff they need to make something delicious. Afterwards in dormitories all kitchens were occupied and very soon you could smell something tasty in each of the floors. Hardly could wait to taste everything. Potatoe pancakes with sour cream and jam of red bilberries, garlic bread and cheese cookies from Latvia, filled eggs, potatoes, fresh vegetables and delicious chocolates from Belarus, cottage cheese pancakes from Lithuania, goulash soup and dessert from our Hungarian team and lots of more food from India, Thailand and Greece. Some traditional drinks as well and afterwards we hardly could move because definitely we didn’t wanted to lose this great opportunity to try all those tastes. Some of participants admited that they cooked for the first time. You see that in the summer school you can learn not just academic knowledge!

And of course afterwards we needed to burn all those calories so we played some games and sang karaoke. Great evening, nothing more to say! :)
